Submit to Win: Mastering the MCA Entry

Learn how to submit a winning MCA entry! In order to qualify and win the local Marketing Communications Award and go on to HQ’s national program, you need to know how to write an entry that will speak to the selection team and make it a viable contender for success in its submission category. Long-time SMPS member and MCA reviewer, Dorothy J. Verdon, CPSM, will walk you through the best practices and lessons learned from the national MCA program—now in its 47th year!—as well as other more technical award programs like AIA and ACEC.
Learning objectives include:
- Making a go-no go decision about whether and what to submit
- Researching past winners and juries
- Creating impactful written content within word count constraints
- The value of imagery in supporting the narrative
- Gathering supplemental data to make your case
- Important dos and don’ts to increase your chances of having a winning submission
