SMPS Philadelphia Recognizes Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Membership Grant Recipients

PHILADELPHIA, PA – SMPS Philadelphia, a Chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), selected its 2026 DEI Membership Grant recipients. The grant, administered by the Chapter Relations Committee, was created to provide outstanding professionals with an opportunity to engage deeply with SMPS Philadelphia as a member and participate on a committee of their choice through a complimentary one-year membership. This year, the Chapter has selected three professionals for the grant.
Katrina Macaro, Marketing Coordinator, Ballinger
Katrina Macaro is a marketing specialist with a background in industrial and graphic design. Holding a B.S. in Industrial Design from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, she is passionate about illuminating and uplifting diverse creative voices. As a Marketing Coordinator at Ballinger, Katrina leverages her years of experience to craft thoughtful content to resonate effectively with clients across a range of building typologies, from healthcare and higher education to retail and cultural projects.
Marlea Harris, Marketing & Administrative Coordinator, Klein & Hoffman
Marlea Harris is a Marketing & Administrative Coordinator at Klein & Hoffman. She is honored to have been selected for the DEI Membership Grant, providing the opportunity to represent herself as an individual but also work and connect with fellow AEC marketers who share similar experiences. Being part of this community offers both inspiration and a strong support system that fuels her professional growth. Marlea is excited to collaborate, learn, and contribute within this group while continuing to advance inclusive and impactful marketing efforts.
Olivia Rakiro, Project Coordinator, Promatech
Olivia Rakiro is a Project Coordinator at Promatech, Inc., where she supports project operations, marketing, business development, and client engagement. Her work includes strategic outreach, proposal support, compliance monitoring and reporting, and project coordination. With experience spanning communications, marketing, and operations, she supports marketing and business development efforts within the AEC industry. Olivia is excited to continue developing her expertise in marketing and business development through her involvement with SMPS. She is honored to be selected as a recipient of the SMPS DEI membership grant and looks forward to engaging with and learning from the SMPS community.
Steven Alvarez, APPE, Director, Chapter Relations, welcomed these three recipients and congratulated them on their selection. “We are thrilled to award Katrina, Marlea, and Olivia the DEI Membership Grant for 2026! These three women created thoughtful and detailed submissions outlining their desire to get more involved with SMPS Philadelphia. Each submission included skills they excel at, paired with areas they can build, learn, and grow with us as an organization. We are so excited to invite them to learn more about board service while participating in a committee of their choice.
As part of the grant agreement, Katrina, Marlea, and Olivia will commit to one year of volunteer service on an SMPS Philadelphia Chapter committee. Through their continued participation at the committee level, they will become eligible to serve on the Chapter’s Board of Directors, further supporting SMPS Philadelphia’s educational mission and organizational growth.
