We are pleased to announce the recipients of the first DEI Membership Grant: Steven Alvarez, Charnelle Hicks, and Jami Roblejo. The Chapter's inaugural Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Membership Grant was funded and made possible by this year’s M/W/DBE sponsors, to whom we are extremely grateful: Arora Engineers, KS Engineers, Substance151, and THA Consultants.
Spearheaded by the Chapter’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, the grant was created to provide outstanding professionals with an opportunity to engage deeply with SMPS Philadelphia as a member, with the $399 annual fee comped for one year. As part of the grant agreement, recipients are asked to commit to volunteer service on a chapter committee. Through their participation, they become eligible to serve on the chapter’s board of directors and further support the Chapter's educational mission and growth. All three recipients will serve on the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, where they will collaborate with the board and committees to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in our programs, events, community outreach, communications, and organizational practices.
